The Strengths Hope and Resourcefulness Program for School Mental Health (SHARP-SMH) helps build up students and teachers by bringing hope into the classroom. Using positive psychology and focusing on strengths, our team of researchers, teachers, and students has developed activities that teach and grow hope. These activities fit right into the lessons students are already learning.
No matter how you define it, hope is an important tool for facing difficult parts of our lives. Research shows that it helps with school achievement, motivation, and physical and emotional health. We’ve made a variety of tools that mix hope into all sorts of learning, from literature to mathematics!
Any teacher can use SHARP-SMH materials and research to create hope in their classrooms. Teachers can also reach out to the SHARP team to learn more. Hope is contagious in the best way possible! What better place to learn about hope than in school!
