Hope is the ability to envision a future in which we wish to participate
(Jevne & Edey)1
Building skills to access and activate hope in our lives is a useful skill in preparing for the future. Although there is often an element of uncertainty in approaching the future, moving forward in a hopeful way means that we can imagine positive possibilities even if we don’t yet know how they might come about. Anticipating hopeful futures brings together the dimensions of thinking, acting, feeling and relating as we work towards creating a future we want to be a part of2.
